Hi! I’m Lindsay, the heart and soul behind Birth Faith Doula. I’ve been supporting families as a doula for over 15 years- ever since I became a mother myself- and have had the honor of serving more than a 1,000 clients. I have worked all over the DFW metroplex with various doctors, midwives, nurses, and staff, and have supported just about every kind of birth. My vast work experience, in both the medical and birth worlds, have involved collaborating with various providers and nurses, all across Dallas/Fort Worth, ensuring that you have optimal teamwork and support for your birth.
I’m a proud mom to two incredible teens: one deeply immersed in classical ballet, and the other a competitive national pickleball player. My first child was born in a hospital after a long and difficult labor. My second child was born in the water at home. Both were beautiful births. Both were vastly different. Both were experiences which gave me more empathy, understanding, and passion for the different needs of women. In addition to their births, I have had the pleasure of supporting many different kinds of births through the years, encountering a multitude of situations, some required quick thinking, collaboration, calmness, competence, and a peaceful spirit. Each birth has been unique, allowing me the opportunity to gain optimal experience in various birthing situations.
Birth should be an empowering experience, rooted in education, autonomy, informed consent, support, and most of all, love. Coming alongside women, being in the trenches with them in the most vulnerable time of their lives, has been an honor for so many years. It is what drives me to continue to do this work of servitude. I would love nothing more than to walk beside you through your journey of motherhood.
When I’m not supporting birthing families across the DFW area, you’ll likely find me gardening, baking, Olympic weightlifting, homeschooling, and walking my very large Great Pyreneese. I also splash around quite a bit as a swim instructor. My family is always on-the-go with a mission of positively impacting everyone we meet. We live for being active and thrive on connecting with all kinds of people (two qualities that are essential for being an exceptional doula).
I am a deeply rooted fifth-generation Texan who grew up in Ft. Worth and graduated from TCU. Go Frogs! I gained a BS in journalism/public relations while minoring in vocal performance and earning my teaching certification. Upon graduating, I spent seven years as a teacher, then moved into the business sector of the medical world for four years, allowing me to learn how to form strong relationships with clients and medical staff.
After my first child was born, my love for educating about health, wellness, and all things birth became my passion. It was out of this passion that Birth Faith Doula was born. Pairing my skills and love for educating others, along with the understanding of how to bridge relationships between clients and medical staff, has aided me in guiding women to know their options and make informed decisions about their labor and delivery. My mission is to share years of knowledge and experience with my clients so that they may confidently enter the birthing space feeling well- supported during pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
"A life changing birth experience thanks to my sister, my doula
This was my second birth, and I am truly overwhelmed with gratitude as I reflect on this incredible journey. My son, Waylon, was born in water, and having my sister my doula by my side made all the difference in the world.
As a birth photographer and doula myself, I know how important it is to create the space for a mother to feel supported, empowered, and in control. But when it was my turn to give birth, I had to let go of my “doula head” and step into the role of just the birthing mother. That was harder than I ever imagined. But my sister was there to gently guide me through that process, reminding me that it was okay to lean into my vulnerability and trust the process.
Her support was beyond anything I could have ever hoped for. She didn’t just coach me through each contraction. She held space for me in ways only a sister can. She knew exactly when to step in, when to step back, and when to help my husband find his footing as a supportive partner. As a doula, I often encourage my clients to trust their bodies and in that moment, I needed my sister to remind me of that truth.
I chose to have a completely natural, medication free birth, and there were moments when I wasn’t sure I could do it. That’s when my sister’s voice would cut through the noise, reminding me of my power and strength. Her calmness, her unwavering faith in me, and the deep understanding she had of both my body and my emotional state were the anchors I needed. She was everything I needed in that moment my doula, my sister, my friend.
There is something incredibly profound about having a loved one present during such an intimate experience. She didn’t just help me bring Waylon into the world she helped me believe in my strength, in the power of my body, and in the love that surrounded me. The bond we shared through this experience is something I’ll carry with me forever.
Having my sister there as my doula was an indescribable gift. I will forever be grateful for her calm, her wisdom, and her love. Waylon’s birth was not only beautiful and transformative, but it was made even more special because I got to share it with her in such a deep, meaningful way.
